Bake Sale review by Reading Ambassador, Kerrigan!

Meet Reading Ambassador, Kerrigan!

Kerrigan loves animals.
Her favorite animal is a squirrel.
She likes to bake, especially brownies.
When asked her what her favorite book was, she giggled, "Bake Sale, probably!"
Her favorite author event at CES was when Kwame Alexander visited "because he was fun!"

BAKE SALE book review by Kerrigan McCarthy

Bake Sale by Sara Varon was a great book. I recommend it for kids ages 7-9 because it was really easy to read.
The book has a lot of lessons in it for kids.  It teaches younger kids the importance of being kind to their friends.  For example, Cupcake (the main character) earns all that money to get a plane ticket and then gives it to his friend, Eggplant (the other main character). The book also teaches older kids how to accomplish their goals on their own. For example, when Cupcake wanted to earn more money he sold sweet treats whereever he could, so he could buy a plane ticket to Turkey.
My favorite part was when Cupcake went to the church to sell dog treats at the pet cleansing day. Bake Sale was a great book and I highly recommend it to you.

ps-I wonder if Kerrigan went to our ReadOver/SleepOver in the spring of 2015 when Sara Varon was our guest?  That was a pretty cool event!  We just LOVE authors and illustrators at CES!
